Work type stuff

So, with the weather warming up, all sorts of little beasties are coming out, and we already have ants in the office kitchen again. My boss, in all his infinite wisdom, decided not to get traps, but to spray bleach. Over everything. And leave it there. Overnight.

Needless to say, when I came in this morning, I immediately wanted to don some hazmat gear. Good gravy, it stunk. And, I guess I'm sensitive or something, because I started doing the gagging/cough thing. Lovely.

Opened all the windows that I could (some, including the one right behind my desk, are painted shut. grrrrr), turned on all the fans, and air conditioners, and then I left for about twenty minutes.

Came back and the smell was gone in the outer office, but it was still pretty strong in the kitchen area, so I left everything open/turned on.

Boss comes in.

Boss: Why's the window open? Why's the door open? Why are the ACs on? You've got the AC on AND the door open, what's wrong with you?!
Me: The bleach smell made me sick.
Boss: I only sprayed it a couple of times. Do you know how much pressure having the door open is putting on the AC?!
Me: *Firm voice with scowly face (I hardly EVER pull out the scowly face)* Either everything stays on and the door stays open, or I'm going home.
Boss: Well... all right. Sorry. Do you want me to spray some Lysol?
Me: O_o
Boss: No? Okay.

Yes, let's COMBINE toxic chemicals. I don't need all these pesky brain cells anyway.

Also, had quite a lovely moment...

R: So I called T at the State Board o' DOOM about the Whatsits contract, and she told me I needed to do blah blah blahblahblah.
Me: *grinning*
R: What's so funny?
Me: That's exactly what I told you to do two weeks ago.
R: Really?
Me: Um, yeah.
R: So, I guess I should have just listened to you.
Me: Um.... YEAH.

When will they learn?
