It's Almost Over...

saoneThank God, Christmas is over with and now we just have to get through New Years.
First of all, Mom caught my flu bug, so Christmas dinner was postponed until Sun. Thankfully, she agreed that we should keep the Christmas morning opening present tradition fully intact. Yay. Nothing like the scent of pine and lysol. Anyway, Christmas was just me and mom and we mostly spent our time watching dvds until we konked out on the couch. It was lovely.
Sat. brought the stepfather to town and we were civil to each other. He even said I was a really wonderful person... of course he was drunk at the time, so who knows...
Sun. brought dinner with the stepgrandparents. Stepgrandmother (she's the one who had the triple bypass) was great. Stepgrandfather was... bad. Really bad. Threw mom and I for a loop. Don't know if it's the onset of Alzheimers or just old fashioned dementia, but jeez... Everyone needed a good stiff drink after that.
