Gaston has come and gone, and once again, we were really lucky.

We've got some water damage, but there was no real flooding in my area, and the funnel clouds stayed in the next county over. Richmond got spanked, though. We're talking roads being washed away, bridges crumbling, SUVs floating down the street. The news has been pretty wild. You know it's going to be bad when the anchors start looking freaked out.

Is it wrong that...

My first reaction was, "Wow, the villain from Beauty & The Beast visited"? *g*

That's actually how I had to describe it to somebody.

No one was really making a big deal out of it because the National Weather Service said we would get only 15 to 20 mph winds and 1 to 2 inches of rain. Hey, they were only off by twelve inches. *g*

But, I got a call Monday morning from the other full time person at the office saying she was going to be a little late, since her husband, who's in New York at the moment (oddly enough, he was in New York during Isabelle too. Hmmmm), told her the hurricane was coming.

Me: Yeah, it's Gaston.
P: Really? Great.
Me: What?
P: You said it's passed on?
Me: No, no. Gaston.
P: What on?
Me: GASTON! GASTON! You know, like in Beauty and the Beast?!

*sigh*
