Mar. 27th, 2005 08:43 pmSometimes I really do hate living in a small town.
So, the *lunch* (not a date. *LUNCH*) went okay. Lots of awkward pauses and strained laughter. I tried every scare tactic I could think of, but he still seemed interested (sometimes it is a curse to be *so* irresistible). Hell, I even said I like being alone! Now, I know stereotypically guys are supposed to be dense about picking up subtle clues, but I practically hit him over the head with a frying pan, and he still didn't get it!
*sigh*
I didn't see my two scheming co-workers until Friday. It took me a while, but I think I managed to impart to them, that yes, he was very nice, but no, I didn't want to get involved. At all. With anyone. Maybe in a few years, after I learn to say the word 'commitment' without stuttering.
I thought it was all over with (silly me), then Friday afternoon, one of the schemers, very sheepishly, informed me that an old colleague told her I had been seen out and about with "her beau on her arm." Her words, not mine. Beau. Dear lord.
*bangs head on desk AGAIN*
