Apr. 29th, 2003 07:13 pmHaven't been online recently. The state of my inbox
frightens me. Haven't had time for anything other
than work and wading through an ocean of family crap.
Actually, step family crap.
I've decided, there are two distinct types of people
in the world. There are those who look at a situation
in a laid back, calm manner, and then there are the
drama queens who wonder how they can turn something
already bad into a tragedy.
My step father's step father has been diagnosed with
hardening of the arteries, which in some ways presents
itself a lot like Alzheimer's. My step grandmother
has been trying to deal with him all by herself,
which, as anyone can imagine, means she's been under a
lot of stress lately. My step, step grandfather's
daughter had come up with the brilliant idea of just
committing them both. She even went so far as to
suggest that everyone who was mentioned in their wills
should just go ahead and claim their inheritance. I
mean, God, they're not dead yet!
Anyway, things seem to be going okay now. There's no
more talk of committing, though there is talk of
getting a home health care worker to take care of him.
So, just wanted to let everyone know where I've been.
I'm still alive *g*... not so sure about my sanity,
though. Whoops, that's a dangerous joke to be making
around here now. ;)
