As a kid, I distinctly remember thinking Scarlett and Snake Eyes were a couple. I still kind of do, thanks to The Hub showing old GI Joe episodes. (Hated Flint/Lady Jaye then and I still do, though. ;P)
Ugh. I was kind of ambivalent towards Flint, but I hated Lady Jaye back when I was a kid. Now, my feelings are tempered somewhat by the thought that, wow, it was really cool for them to add another female character to the show, but back then... whoo boy. From her stupid name, to her stupider javelins (honestly, javelins?!) I detested Lady Jaye.
I think most of that came from me realizing that she was taking screen time away from Scarlett, and I was a major Scarlett girl. In fact, looking back, I'm pretty sure Scarlett is the reason I became a redhead and why I've always been intrigued by crossbows. ;)
It was kind of cool for them to add another female character to the show. Cobra only had the Baroness and random female Cobra soldiers who show up when it's an episode about the female characters or to be attracted to Destro and piss off the Baroness.
I remember liking Cover Girl and wondering why she disappeared for the most part after the early miniseries.
Watching old episodes of GI Joe, Flint just comes off as a douchebag. And I end up wondering just what Lady Jaye sees in him. (It also seems wildly inappropriate for the two of them to be so public with their relationship in the military. Even if it is the world of GI Joe.)
Ugh. The movie... They killed Cover Girl, made the Baroness into a (brainwashed) good guy, completely ignored the Scarlett/Snake Eyes relationship, again, wasted the awesome potential of JGL and Christopher Eccleston, and don't even get me started on those damn suit things...
Okay, so you're upset because the movie basically destroyed your childhood dreams...the same sister as mentioned above complained about the movie because apparently, there weren't enough scenes with a sweaty, shirtless, Mr. Tatum in them.
Gotta wonder who's priorities need to be realigned, now...... ;-)

Uh, I might still be a little bitter.
