Killer Romance 'Verse (aka The Adventures of crimeboss!Jared and ex-assassin!Jensen)

This series started as a fill to a kink meme prompt way back in August 2010. On this page, all the fics in the series - regular, comment, and timestamps - will be listed chronologically.

Warning: These fics are definitely heavy on the crack, but the main characters are murders, thieves, and gangsters, so expect violence, death, immoral behavior, and the occasional allusions towards torture and gore.



Worrisome -
Comment fic for tygrrlyli. Jensen's dad has always thought there was something a little off about his boy. (R)

You Always Remember Your First - Comment fic for maria9631. Jensen's first kill, featuring a special mystery guest. (R)

In the Beginning - All love stories have to start somewhere. (Though this fic is set later in the series, the majority of it is a flashback to Jensen and Jared's first meeting) (PG-13)

The First Fight - Comment fic for proffesorx. Jensen thinks Jared's going to break up with him. (PG)

Hunting - Comment fic for gypsy_atavari. Set sometime during their first year together, Jensen gets riled and reverts to his old ways, luckily, Jared's there to talk him down. Literally. (PG-13)

Bah Humbug - Timestamp. The first Christmas as a couple always has a few - or a lot - of speedbumps. Written for holiday - different traditions square for Schmooop Bingo. (PG)

This Could Get Messy - Jared has a pretty good life with his booming criminal organization and his indecently hot boyfriend, but when right-hand-man Chad thinks he's found a snitch will everything fall apart... or get cut into tiny pieces with a big-ass knife? (R)

This Could get Messier - Jeff's wondering if it might be time to take a nice, long vacation. (R)

Better Than Chocolates - Valentine's Day timestamp. (R)

Vengeance (Is a Dish Best Served by Someone's Mother) - Jensen has a rotten day, Jared tries to help, and everyone else makes bets on the effectiveness of Misha's ability to make nefarious plans. (PG-13)

Repercussions - You really shouldn't fuck with Jensen's boyfriend. (R)

Volatile - When the team gets attacked, Jensen goes on the offensive. But is everything - and everyone - really what they seem? (PG-13)

Anything but Common - Misery doesn't always love company, but Jared always loves Jensen, even if he is kind of gross at the moment. (PG)

Hey soooooo. I want to start your killer romance verse but I'm confused as to where I'm supposed to start. On this master list worrisome is first which is a comment fic (not really certain what that means lol) but on j2 fic recs, "this could get messy" is first so can you help a sister out as far as where I'm supposed to start lol

This Could Get Messy is the first written fic of the series from way back in August of 2010. Worrisome is the first chronological fic in the series and it's set when Jensen is a pre-teen and gives a little glimpse into his background.

The master list is in chronological order because that just made the most sense to me when I was trying to put everything together, but you don't necessarily have to read it that way.

Comment fic is fic posted as a reply, and is usually a response to a prompt that someone leaves. Last year on the anniversary of the first fic I opened up a post and asked people for prompts or scenarios that they'd like to see in the Killer Romance 'verse, so everything that says comment fic comes from that post.

The entire series is also up on AO3 (http://archiveofourown.org/works/914241/chapters/1772338) where it's in a chapter format and it's a little cleaned up from what was posted on lj.

When i was following the story, it seemed to have a different story direction, somethin involving Jensen's father who is the director of FBI and also an ex who turns up and jensen almost sleeps with him. It was WIP then. When I saw the series was over, these parts were just not there! Only the first few stories were same! Did I imagine the whole thing lol? Please help me fix my brain, I'm losing it!

You're thinking of a different mob au series written by Splashpink.

This isn't the first time I've gotten asked about those fics in relation to the KR timeline, so don't feel bad. ;)

Spashpink deleted her regular journal and her fic journal a while back. I don't think she ever finished the series, but I see requests for her fic pop up on spnstoryfinders every once in a while, so you might want to check there and see if anyone has copies they'd be willing to send you.

Also, sometimes when a fanfic writer completely purges their stuff it's because they're going to change character names and get it published as original fiction. You might want to check around with online, slash-friendly publishing sites and see if anyone's put up a mob story lately.
