saoneThe stepfather's extended family wanted to have a barbeque, so the traditional Thanksgiving dinner stuff is postponed until Saturday. Since it's only going to be the three of us (me, mom, and sf) we won't have to make a huge production out of anything. Nope, that'll have to wait 'til Christmas.
So, today was supposed to be nice and relaxing, a day off while everyone else flitted around, and it was... until Mom locked herself out of the bathroom.
Now, I love my mother, and I know that in another twenty seven years I will be just like her, so I really can't be too snarky. Oh, did I mention the lock in question was a deadbolt?
We still have no idea how it happened. Me and the sf spent about an hour with screwdrivers, and flashlights, and a hacksaw blade trying to figure out a way to get the damn thing open without breaking the seventy year old lock or the 100 year old door. In the end we forced it. The lock came off and the door frame went *CRACK*. Methinks we will be getting some wood glue somewhere tomorrow.
