Spent part of the morning watching a spider duke it out with a wasp. It was like Animal Planet in my kitchen.

Hey,

I many not have the world's best housekeeping skills
but, I do not have ground spiders living in my
kitchen. ;P

-Yes you do...you just can't see them.... There are *many* more arthropods living in our houses than we realise!


They sound like yellowjackets.

-Yes, we call them Paper Wasps over here. The Social Wasps that build a communal hive...

No this was bigger, and there was no yellow and black. Just brown. Maybe it was a hornet?

-Sounds more like a dumbass, inexperienced Solitary Spider Hunter. Usually only the *really* experienced ones go for web-builders....


*shrug* I guess around here we tend to call everything not a bee, a wasp.

Except for the Japanese Hornets which we refer to as 'Dear God, Call An Ambulance'. *g*
