The good: Finally saw Goblet of Fire yesterday. It was amazing. When it was over I felt like I had run a marathon--there were no slow parts of that film. Oh, and Cedric so wanted Harry. You just know that if it wasn't for the rules of the tournament, he would have shown Harry the prefect's bathroom himself. *eg*

The pervy: Speaking of the bathroom scene, it seems like Dan's filled out. Sixteen's legal in England, right? ;D

The bad: Urgh.

Found out before the movie that Mom needs to have an MRI done on her back. She's been having back pain, and the upper part of one of her legs has been going numb, so the doctor thinks something might have slipped, or broken off and is pushing on a nerve. Great.

Then, after the movie, we both found out that my grandmother was in the hospital. She had gone to her doctor for a regular check-up, and he discovered that her iron levels were so low, he immediately sent her to the hospital for a transfusion. Mom talked to her last night and she said she was fine. Yeah, she also said she was fine right after open heart sugary. See, we're the type of people who, when something is wrong with our personal health, we shrug it off. Fine is our default answer for everything. Puking your guts out--"I'm fine." Massive head trauma--"I don't know who you are, but I'm fine." Chop off a finger with a kitchen utensil--"I'm fine, but you may not want to eat the salad."

Sooo, Mom's going to try to glean from her doctor just how worried we should be, and we're going to go up and see her this evening.

Oh, and of course, there was the whole boss-issue.

Me: Hey, I know I was out yesterday, but my grandmother's in the hospital so I was wondering if I could work through lunch and leave an hour early today?

Boss: I just don't know, there are a lot of things that need to get done today.

Me: *thinking I'll be working the same amount of hours, I'll just be leaving early* Um... okay. So, I'll just get started, what needs to be done?

Boss: *hems haws* The phones were really busy yesterday!

Uh huh. Translation? There aren't any urgent things that need to get done, he just needed to exert some control over me.

About an hour later the words 'grandmother' and 'hospital' finally sunk in, and he asked me if I needed to leave any earlier. *rolls eyes*

Good grief.

Yes, sixteen is legal in the UK. *eg*

And look for The Flash in about three (business) days. Enjoy.
