I too love Cryptozoology, and not just because of the whole 'Holy crap! Enormous Aquatic Reptile!" thing at 16. I have a particular fondness for Alien Big Cats too (The Blue Mountains in New South Wales are *crawling* with American Mountain Lions, prolly decendants of army mascots your mob dumped here in the bush at the end of WWII...
Ahh. All thousand facets of my compound eyes are functioning nominally, thankyou *g*. The picture of Orlando fooled me as he actually looked attractive in it, and I don't generally fancy hi out of Elf drag *g*.
Have you ever checked out www.cryptomundo.com ? Very interesting site set up blog-like. Bigfoot gets a primary focus, but other cryptids (lake monsters, big birds, giant snakes) are well represented too.

Me too. Of course, I guess around here they can't really be considered Alien since they're just taking back their territory. Still, I saw a cougar when I was about twelve and all the "official word" was there were no mountain lions east of the Mississippi.
I've still got my fingers crossed for Thylacines to be roaming Tasmania. And Steller's Sea Cow gets my vote for being the creatures collectively known as "Nessie"
